Sarah Catoe's Bridal
A lot of people avoid the statehouse when taking pictures but honestly it is one of my most favorite places ever to shoot at, especially for bridals. The white walls make the dress pop so well. I love it so much and Sarah looked amazing in her dress there.
kyle & linsey's engagement
I know! I know! I am a slacker and I admit. This last month I have been totally horrible at my blog game and I am so sorry that I haven’t been able to share this amazing couples (or my other amazing couples) as much as I would like to but after a month I figure I will go a head and post Kyle & Linsey’s engagement photos because uhh how could I not!
I feel like all I have done is talk about my Nashville trip, but I can't help it. Like seriously look at this amazing style shoot and all the fun things that we did!!
January 3, 2019
I am going to start off by saying wow 2018 was crazy and crazy in the best way possible. No it wasn’t the craziest year yet but it sure has been one of the best! My youngest turned 3 and changed a lot of things for our family. We no longer had babies/toddlers, we officially have young children. Which doesn’t sound like a great accomplishment but when you have been worrying about bottles and diapers for 5 years it was a much needed change. So I want to go through my year from just the highlights. This blog post is more of a for me. I never want to forget things and this year was one I don’t ever want to forget.
Some people fan girl over Taylor Swift but this girl right here completely fan girl over Emily Ley and yes she is as sweet and kind in person as she seems on the internet. Most people don’t realize that Erin’s first name is actually Emily (Emily Erin Proctor). Yes my youngest daughter is named after Emily Ley. Her book Grace Not Perfection has changed my life in more ways than I can count.
We also adopted our second dog, Kamara, a black lab mix. She has been a fun mix to all the craziness to this fun loving family. Clay was not the most excited about this new arrival but has grown to love her.
3rd – The one who made me a mommy went to her first dance…a father daughter dance. After taking a million pictures I went home and cried. Like seriously my baby grew up so much in this moment my mama heart just could not handle it. She was so gorgeous and so happy. It was like looking into the future of where she is going and I just loved it so much.
24 – Then on top of looking like a teenager to going to the dance with daddy, she looked at me after a baseball game and told me. “Mommy I am ready to get my ears pierced.” So we went to Claire’s and got her ears pierced!
April didn’t slow down at all my mother in law and me took the girl’s to Disney on ice and it was so much and just a little step to the whole thing in coming in November! (Disney World) and then my youngest Erin, turned 3!! Ya’ll she turned three. No longer a toddler but a young child. It was a very bitter sweet moment. We celebrated with a epic trolls birthday party and she loved every moment of it!
Jonathan and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary! It’s so crazy to look back and see just how far we have really come, but he surprised me with a trip to savannah. There are places in this world where you go and it just feels like home. That was what it felt like to go to savannah. My family vacationed there most summers and it honestly felt so much home. I cried like a giant baby on the way home. It was the only place I have ever been at and not wanted to leave. It’s just home to me and it was so exciting to take my best friend there.
And then the girl’s had their dance recital and it reminded my all the reasons why I came home! This was Erin’s very first dance recital and even though she did amazing we realized maybe dance was not for her.
June & July
Our slow months! In South Carolina it’s normally to hot for photoshoots/weddings and honestly I didn’t hate it. We had a lot of fun going to pirate land, pool fun with family, VBS, dance camps, and realizing that dance might not be Erin’s thing but Gymnastics definitely is! The summer month’s are always some of my favorite. Even though I hate nothing more then being hot I love living in a bathing suit, our hair turning blonder and the constant smell of sun screen. I love snacking by the pool and seeing the girls just be kids.
I took the leap in my photography business and drove 8 hours with two other semi local photographers and went to Nashville, TN. IT WAS AMAZING!! I had never been to Nashville or stayed in such a fancy hotel. (When you walked into the room and it basically welcomed you by opening the blinds, and turning on lights for you to great you! Yes it was amazing) and all the education and style shoots where just as amazing. I loved loved loved driving around Nashville, seeing the sights, and getting caught in the middle of a shoot out at a club a block away in a cab. (probably one of the most scariest things I have had ever been in)
After my confrence I drove 8 hours home and woke up the next morning (after getting home around 11pm) and woke Mckenney up for her very first day Kindergarten. It was a whirl wind of a bunch of stuff going on at once but it was so worth it!
This was the start of my crazy wedding season but that didn’t stop my family to wanting to do stuff. Erin got her very first hair cut and Mckenney turned 6 years old which is totally crazy. She had the cutest unicorn party and even her boyfriend Luke came to celebrate. She was over the mood happy about that!
My most favorite of favorite months! We went to SC state fair which is always a blast, but this year the girls wanted to ride on every ride there which was amazing.
I was also excited because Mckenney & I had our very first field trip together which just made my mama heart so happy! Mckenney & I don’t get much alone time together away from daddy and sissy, so it was a nice change. It was also fun seeing her with her friends from school and seeing all the kids she talks about when she comes home in the afternoon.
Then halloween which they both wanted to be Super women and wonder women which was nice since the whole next month they will be princesses!!
Ahhhhh THE MONTH I LOOK FOWARD TO ALL YEAR!!! Our trip to Disney World and yes it was amazing and No I don’t want to go back for a least two years. I loved seeing the kids get so excited over Disney World BUT its really hard as a adult, but yes I am already planning my trip for 2020, so get ready for me to talk about that for the next 2 years!
I also hosted my first Thanksgiving dinner just 4 days after we got home from Disney World. To say I was beat was a understatement but it was a lot of fun and I hope I get the privilege of hosting Thanksgiving again this year.
This December we took it slow! Just the way I love it!! We made Christmas cookie, Mckenney had her first role in the Christmas play (She played a little orphan named Zoolie) and we went shopping on the weekends. It was honestly the best Christmas so far.
If you stuck with me for this long. Thank you! It was so much fun writing this post and sharing a little glimpse of 2018 with you. I am so excited to see all the fun adventures this next year will take us! One of my goals is to take my real camera a long more. Sorry for all the iphone photos, but thats life.
